The Xeno series has always had some of the best music in the industry, at least imo, and the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy is no exception to this. All three games have a top notch soundtrack, but it's X's that's always overlooked/left out.I never see it mentioned in discussions, except for when people talk about how bad it is. I won't deny that there's some straight up bad tracks, like NLA and Black Tar, but it seems like it's those tracks people focus on when they talk about the OST. I know there are fans of it, such as myself, but either they're quiet or I'm looking in the wrong places.I just don't get how people can point out the bad tracks but ignore some of the amazing pieces of music from this game. From the epic, and, to the beautiful and, to the absolute bop that is, and many more such as, I'll stand by my opinion that X has a top notch OST overall.I actually prefer it to XC1's OST, but I know that's not exactly a popular opinion.

X is a very different game compared to the other two, and therefore it has a very different soundtrack, using more artificial sounds compared to the instrumental music that XB1 and 2 use a lot of. When I first started the game, I sat on the title screen and listened to the main theme, and that alone told me that it was going to be a very different experience compared to XB1. The Xenoblade X soundtrack is good for X specifically as it really helps set the tone and theme of the game - an atmosphere that is vastly contrasting from Xenoblade 1 and 2.While the soundtrack does have a few songs that I would not admittedly listen to in my own time (NLA Night) and a lot of the songs with vocals are very Engrishy, the soundtrack is still very enjoyable. All of the overworld themes are phenomenal (Noctilum Day is still one of my favourites, as is Oblivia Day), heck, I love the harmony of Black Tar at around the 1:47 mark. Uncontrollable is a fantastic song too.

On the far side of the bridge, you'll be able to add another new location, the Anchorage War Memorial, to your map, which will help you with future instantaneous travel. Westland survival guide. But if you can teleport instantly to Wilhelm's Wharf, a majority of your overland trip will be truncated significantly.Be careful crossing the bridge near the wharf. There are some Frag Mines along it that will blow your legs off if you aren't too careful.

The also love the quieter songs such as z15f20i12e09l14d (Celica's Theme), The Way (which is basically THEMEX but calmer and with vocals but still very nice), and the ocean theme (fiKAIeldJOU) too. While the English doesn't too much sense most of the time, the song's main purpose is to sound good and convey the the tone of the situation. A good example is Uncontrollable, as the guitar pumps you up to fight (or running for your life) against the Tyrant. The vocals project the struggle that you are probably going through in the fight, even if they don't make much sense. On a side note, I think it's a staple of every Xenoblade game at this point to have the token Engrishy song somewhere! At least one that's calm. In XB1, it's Beyond the Sky.

XBX, I would say it's The Way (though that song is used at the end of every chapter so I don't know if that one counts). And then XB2 is One Last You. I would add Drifting Soul but I feel the lyrics aren't that Engrishy compared to One Last You. By the way, I'm loving all the XCX posts coming out of nowhere recently.Definitely. Honestly an underrated and overlooked game. For Xenoblade Chronicles X, it's movement/gameplay, world and a freaking great world exploration (These last 2 incredibly amazing). For Xenoblade 1, it's definitely story and battle system (Every character playstyle is highly detailed and diffrent from the rest. Melia, Dunban and Seven were really really fun to play as).

Were they to re-release an HD Remake of this one, world would most likely get my vote. Really sucks that I can't appreciate the world of this game on my 1080P screen as I could on my CRT.So far, the best thing about Xenoblade 2 is the cutscenes for me, but the world is boring as hell when compared to the other 2 games' I feel. I feel is just too hallway-ish, even when comparing it to 1. Don't see myself replaying this one, but maybe my opinion will change after I finish it.

It definitely has some awesome tracks, but it has a lot of problems, too. Black Tar is actually pretty good if you don’t listen too closely to the corny lyrics. And I don’t mind NLA day at all. NLA night is utter trash, though, imo.

Once you factor in how much time you spend in NLA and the fact that you need to find a bench to change the time, it gets old REALLY fast. Then there’s stuff like weird mixing where songs with lyrics that are good on their own are CONSTANTLY blaring over cutscene dialogue. And the Skell flying theme which I actually like except for the fact that it interrupts the better area themes every single time you start flying, which is a ton since you lose your Skell jump and now need to fly to get over any obstacle. Essentially it’s a soundtrack that I greatly enjoy outside of the game, but, in practice, all I hear 90% of the time are NLA, Skell flight theme, and Black Tar. All among the weaker tracks on the OST. I can definitely understand your viewpoint, and I agree that we really shouldn't be hearing the worst of it most of the time.

It really does show that it was Sawano's first time composing for a video game(I do hope they bring him back if they make a much needed sequel).Heck the same issue applies to the final boss. If you enter Overdrive, Wir fliegen overrides the final boss theme.Sound mixing is something that really needs to be improved, and is a major issue.

It's not quite SA2 levels of bad, but it doesn't take much to be better. Hiroyuki Sawano is my favourite composer, to the point where I run a Discord server for fans of his music. The XenobladeX OST is my 3rd favourite Sawano OST. Despite that I still prefer XC1 and XC2's OST (with XC2 being my favourite soundtrack of all time currently). I've been playing through Xenogears recently too, but I haven't finished the game yet so I'm not sure about where I'd place the soundtrack.I think X's main issue is that the focus for the game changed mid-way through development, from a story-focused game to a gameplay-focused game. As a result, many of the tracks Sawano composed weren't so fitting for the final game (although I think as music standalone, it's really good).Takahashi initially hired Sawano to compose for the event cutscenes only, expecting Sawano to have a busy schedule but Sawano asked if he could take charge of the entire OST, as it was his first game OST and games are special to him as they are what got him into music. Also Black tar is the best JRPG battle theme ever conceived and I'm taking no arguments.Though seriously if you don't like the song that's cool.

I think people's main complaints with the OST is when they cherrypick Black tar and N市L街A out. I personally love both songs, but if people are gonna complain about the whole OST based on two songs, it's kind of stupid. I think people need to not discount the entire OST based on two songs, essentially. I don't mind complaints with individual songs, or the whole OST as long as that's what you're actually complaining about.Melancholia is an interesting one since it wasn't actually composed for XenobladeX originally, but I think it fits the game well. Sadly it wasn't used much.
