There are two main modes to play through. The first, 'Cook with Mama' is like a practice round. In the mode you'll be making a dish with Mama who will allow failure and no matter how badly you do, the end result is good. This mode will unlock several more recipes.

The gameplay is so easy, so straightforward that it will certainly put off the older and teenage audiences for sure at some point. The game begins with letting you customize your character, male or female. The customizations are very barebones which only allows you to choose hairstyle, hair color and dress.

Nothing much more than that. You can change the appearance of your character anytime, but you can't change the gender.There isn't much to the gameplay in the end.

The game holds your hand through the several different minigames of a dish. You can never make the whole dish in one single minigames. The gameplay is simple to get used to, especially if you learn every single minigames since most of them are repeated in other recipes. For example one minigames which requires chopping, peeling or pounding has you shaking the Wii Remote down multiple times to finish.

Another which requires you carefully choosing the wanted ingredients and graining sees you moving the Wii Remote left and right. There are three seconds in which the game tells you the way to hold the Wii Remote and prepares you. One minigames will most likely contain different commands to execute. On the bottom left side of the screen the game will always, and I mean always show you the icon which indicates how you need to waggle.

No Nunchuk is required.Don't expect the find a tutorial in the game. Mastering the game is a walk in the park, and the game is far too easy. The level of challenge is easy and never becomes more difficult. To make up to this, Cooking Mama 2 included frustration.

Each minigames is timed so you have to hurry in each minigames. Plus the controls are not 100% responsive so if you have the minigames that requires spinning the Wii Remote, you're most certainly doomed. There are some 'humorous' mini games which take place when a tool escapes from your hand due too much effort or flipping your burger to high up. A minigames takes place where assistance from Mama or your friend is necessary. These are pretty lousy, and failing in one of them could mean the end of the minigames. On the bright side there are plenty of recipes to try in the game, and plenty more to unlock. There are 50+ recipes where you'll make pizza, cookies, kebabs, dango, potato, tempura and a lot of more.

After the completion of a dish, you'll get graded for how well you do and receive medals.The presentation is a better part of the game. The art style is cute which makes stand out from other Wii titles. The 'cute art' is for children so there is no 'moe' or any other kind of charm. Graphically it's no match for any good looking title since some of the character models look plain awful at times. Sound in the game isn't so good. While the music and some of the sound effects are good, Mama's Engrish is absolutely horrendous. You might find her language charming or amusing but hearing her makes my ears bleed.Unlocking all friends and recipes take a good deal of time, but you'll see whatever Cooking Mama 2 in about one or two hours.

This simulator is only aimed at children and the young audience, and it's bound to bore to death the expert and complicated players. It's a good thing that anyone can pick and play. There is some charm and the cute art style has appeal. It's just not most want people want to spend their hard earned money on where there are so much better Wii games.-Graphics = 7.2The graphics are cartoonish and children will look them. Don't focus too much excessive attention on the graphics because you'll see some awful animations.

The dishes look good in the end.Sound = 5.5Music and sounds effect have a passing grade, but Mama's Engrish is awful.
