Jan 31, 2018  Since we all already know Life is Strange Season 2 it's going to have a new location and characters, I want to talk about it. Although I only have a question(or two) in mind right now, you guys think this is for the better, or do you think that LIS is always going to. I don't know. All of the emotional moments just wouldn't work with a male character, unless he was sort of gay/bi. It just wouldn't work for me, and maybe for a lot of people who still view being gay as a bad thing.It works with females as they're seen as softer, more emotional people who can interact with people better and make very close relationships. Men are seen as more masculin people that like to have mates to joke around with more than BFF's.

If it were a male protagonist, being too attached to a certain character will make them seem gay, and many people will complain. There's a fine line with how far you could go without making them seem too gay but also making the story emotionaly interesting.We also got to remeber that the game original is set in 2013, the sequel maybe set the year after or a couple of years. Back then being gay still wasn't as widely accepted as it is today with Political Correctness and SJW's taking over (and it still isn't). DontNod wouldn't be able to tell the story without a little bit of gay discrimination, and too many people will start to complain about it. Square Enix may not even allow it.Unless DontNod make a completley different relationship between a male/female protagonists, but the story will end up very cliche and wouldn't be as effective. It will be like watching almost every love story ever written.The 2 female protagonists that have a very close relationship, but very different personalities works. Don't ignore the phrase 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

For a closer, settled on the atmospheric classic 'Easy'; he does it full justice. More than a quarter century after he cut his debut album, recently made his finest disc to date. Boasting superior material and musicianship (guitarists and and pianist are all stellar) and a goosed-up energy level that frequently reaches incendiary heights, the disc captures outdoing himself vocally on the ribald 'Let Me Stir in Your Pot' and a suitably loose 'When I Get Drunk' and instrumentally on the torrid 'Jawbreaker.'

Me personally would play as male character. It's next game in the franchise and playing as female character for the third time can fall flat imo. As a new game in this franchise it needs something new and playing as male character can deliver that feeling of 'new gameplay'. Playing as male character devs can work with different themes. It can be more violent and dark and also the 'cringe' effect would be resolved.

Because you would be playing as a male character and most of the players in this community are men. Also it doesn't need to focus on the same emotions as the previous game, that means it doesn't need to be about love, friendship and so on.

Episode 5 even shows that this franchise has good potential to have some more thriller and horror elements ( if done in the right way of course, not over the top ) with all that supernatural stuff going on. And as ReissyBoi mentioned I doubt that devs will go for gay male character.

As long as they have a good story and good character development, which they have already proved they can do, I think male or female would be fine for the protagonist. Also they have already said they have Christian Divine back on the team for Season 2 and he was the American writer they hired to 'Americanize' the story for them as they felt they were French/European and wouldn't be able to Americanize their story properly.So having said that it is pretty obvious that the story WILL take place in the USA or at the very least maybe Canada but it WILL NOT be anywhere else or there would be no need to have Christian back.
